So my journey continues…I’m now in my 20’s and I’m working in retail management. I was doing great here and at the same time I wasn’t not fully satisfied. I kept hearing a whisper in the back of my head, “Cook, cook, cook something, create food, you love to cook!” I kept hearing those words for so long over and over, I finally researched a solution. I looked into an internship and I landed a part time position with a restaurant in NY called Agua. There I learned about spicey, flavorful Latin cuisine, “Muy delicioso”! After a year in this environment, I moved into the Italian American food world. Here I got to make fresh pasta for hours, a rookie position no one wanted, but I oddly enjoyed it. After only a few days, I was promoted to line cook, which shocked my co-workers. Usually it took months before you could experience the line. At this point I knew I had to be in this world of food creation, it felt so natural!
When my tour de Italy was fulfilled, I took all my restaurant experiences and ventured on my own with catering and healthy meal prep, “ Taste of Victory” . In the first week when I was supposed to only start advertising, I had over 8 bulk orders and had to start right away…From there it took off and I had my own culinary business…WOW, I was cooking the way I wanted to, or so I thought…
